The aim of our school is for children to communicate in the same language, Basque being the vehicular language of Mundaiz. We are aware that each child comes from his or her own family background and that the mother tongue is not always the same. Moreover, in this first educational stage, some children have not yet fully developed their linguistic ability. Even so, our aim is for them to become fluent in Basque throughout this stage.
In order to promote Basque, we have designed a project with different activities: stories, videos, songs, Euskararen Eguna party, “Korrika”, Tinko (cinema in Basque), workshops in Cristina Enea, the end-of-year performance, Christmas theatre… This project allows us, in addition to the formal sphere, to work on Basque in a fun way so that the children not only learn a language, but also a way of life.
